Scholarship applications must be received in full by August 1, 2024

Each year, EQUS supports students from our membership and celebrates their accomplishments and academic endeavours by offering four scholarships of $1,500 each to our members and their children. Read about the 2023 EQUS Scholarship Recipients.

Since this program began in 2015, EQUS has awarded $40,000 worth of scholarship funding to students from the EQUS membership who are enrolled in post-secondary and trades programs.
The scholarships are awarded to the top four applicants based on a combination of academic and non-academic accomplishments, volunteerism, community involvement, and personal pursuits. The recipients are chosen by a member committee that reviews the applications and all supporting materials submitted. Each applicant must submit a completed application form, personal essay, two letters of reference, an official transcript, and proof of post-secondary enrollment.

To be eligible to receive an EQUS scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary or apprenticeship trade program that is a minimum of two years in length. They must also be residents of Alberta and be, or have a parent or guardian that is, an EQUS member in good standing at the time of application. Applicants do not need to be recent high school graduates to apply, the scholarships are open to students of all ages in any field of study.

The deadline to apply for scholarships is August 1, 2024. Completed applications and all supporting materials must be received by this date to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
