Have you heard? EQUS’ Co-operative Energy Rate (CER) contract is coming up for renewal on January 1, 2026. If you’re an EQUS member on the CER or Rate of Last Resort, it’s time to renew.
The Rate of Last Resort does not require a contract; however, this is a great opportunity to consider making the switch and putting more dollars back into your pocket!
The CER provides a stable alternative option to the Rate of Last Resort, which is a fixed energy rate set every two years. EQUS’ CER has lowered four times over the last ten years and is significantly lower than the current Rate of Last Resort. We’re pleased to offer this competitive rate option to our members.
To complete your renewal, complete your contract and send it back to EQUS by December 31, 2025 using one of the following methods:
Mail – Box 6199, 5120 40 Avenue, Innisfail, AB T4G 1Z1
Email – Electronic Signature via Docusign
Drop it off at your nearest EQUS Area Office
Frequently Asked
You can find this information under the Current Charges section of your latest bill. Look for a line item that says CER or ROLR near the top.
If you do not renew your contract by December 31, 2025, your account will automatically default to the Province’s Rate of Last Resort, which is significantly higher than EQUS’ CER.
You can call 310.EQUS Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) to switch to EQUS’ CER if your account does default.
If you receive your bills in the mail, your contract is on it’s way! We appreciate your patience during the national postal disruptions.
If you are on e-billing, your contract was sent to you in early November via Docusign. Please check your junk folder in your email inbox to ensure you haven’t missed it.
